Dubkasm – Transform I

Transform I cover‘Transform I’ was the debut album on the Sufferers Heights label for Dubkasm, the Bristol-based duo of DJ Stryda and Digistep, which has now spawned an additional dub album, and a dub step remix album.

DJ Stryda has been involved in the Bristol reggae scene and further afield since the late 90s as a selector, the promoter behind the Teachings in Dub nights, host of the now famous Sufferah’s Choice radio show and much more – there isn’t a lot that Stryda hasn’t done in reggae – the title of ‘roots ambassador’ is a fitting one. Reality Chant Productions proudly present Give Thanks, the debut single release by Deadly Hunta on the Reality Chant label.  Produced by Messenjah and Soul Providah, the single is from the forthcoming Fire I Blaze riddim selection set for release in early 2011.

Deadly Hunta began his musical journey chatting on local UK sound-systems. Becoming renowned for his musical diversity – being equally at ease and skilled in hip-hop, reggae and dancehall and also working in various other genres – he has been hailed as a dynamic and innovative artist, bringing positive and conscious lyrics and also for the onslaught of pure energy that he brings to his live shows. Wrongtom – December 2010

WrongtomWrongtom is a producer and DJ from South London. His career has spanned over a decade, covering a colourful patchwork of styles from dancehall to indie-pop, with the likes of rockabilly, dub, ghetto-tech and free jazz filling the gaps in between.

Starting out as a percussionist playing on records for Bob Jones’ Black On Black label and Kingsize, Tom soon taught himself to produce with some hand-me-down analogue gear and a cracked copy of Cubase, his early productions bridging the gap between new school breaks and old freestyle-electro records.
