Stryka D was born and raised in Liverpool UK. As a teenager his appreciation of music broadened after discovering Toxteth Community Radio, a pirate station that specialised in Soul, RnB, Funk, Jazz, Dub, Reggae and electronic dance music during the mid to late 80s. 2 Sounds Clash brings together two of Wellington’s finest crews for a night of party mayhem!
Building on from The Audio Mechanics Monthly Tune Up sessions, and regular Nice Up events, this session will see the two go head-to-head, bringing only their biggest tunes and tuffest vocal stying!
Each crew will each have their own DJ set up, echo effects, dub sirens and mics, ready to rumble with 30mins sets back to back, round for round, pound for pound, pure fun and entertainment.

Tell us a bit about the background of the group – how did Taos come into being?
The band was born in 2001 on Waiheke Island with members, David Walters and Chris Leqeta, who are the only original members still in the crew, and is now based in Christchurch. Billy Fluid, the original lead vocalist has remained on Waiheke Island, where he has pursued his own projects, as well as collaborating with producer Optimus Gryme. (more…)
