About Crucial Vibes
Crucial Vibes Sound System is one of Germany’s oldest sounds, established on New Year’s Eve 1991.
In summer 1988, long-time music collectors, Selectors Crucial B and Alex, went to the Summerjam Festival. Here they saw Conquering Sound System (Hannover) playing heavyweight sound on oversized speakers, every night. This inspired them to start their own sound system. (more…)
My Track of the Week is Stranger and Gladdy’s ‘Conqueror’, a killer piece from Stranger Cole and Gladstone Anderson, produced by Lee Perry.

YT will be coming to Auckland for a Sunday session at Ponsonby’s top spot for sweet reggae shows, Ponsonby Social Club.
His first Album ‘Straight Outta Britain’ set him as one of the UK’s finest new reggae vocalists. His recording with producers such as Mungo’s Hi-Fi, Congo Natty, Necessary Mayhem and many others has proved his versatility and longevity as a recording artist but his live sound system work is not to be missed.
Jafa Mafia will be bringing the valve system to nice up the dance and will be joined by the Sandy Bay crew and guests for a lively session.
No door tax so come early to ensure entry.
Haunting and heartfelt, “Be Wise” finds Putus Roots singing with conviction over a subtle acoustic track. Putus, also known as Delroy Williams, is one of the sons of Count Ossie – the famed Jamaican bandleader and Nyabinghi drummer who fused African musical traditions with Rastafarian beliefs, beginning in the late 1950s up until his death in 1976.
