Naâman – Skanking Shoes

NaamanNone of my ‘Track of the Week’ write-ups thus far have focused on a newer artist, so for this edition I thought I would switch up my approach and pick a more recent release with Naâman’s “Skanking Shoes” off the album Deep Rockers Back A Yard. Papa Steve runs Downbeat Melody Sound in Bristol UK, for the last ten years. His passion for reggae developed in the 70s when he began going to blues dances in South London and built his first sound, Sir Messenger. For awhile Steve lost contact with reggae, then some years later around ’91 his interest was rekindled and he has been hooked ever since. (more…)
