Straight outta Whitianga, Coromandel, Sun Ray initially found her groove selecting vinyl for sound systems in her old hood Newtown, Wellington, with the support of NiceUp Crew, Vital Sounds Hi-Fi (New Zealand’s first custom-built reggae sound system) and Sounds Almighty Sound System.
Now carving up her own styles in the sunny Coromandel, Sun Ray has a deep love for infectious rhythms and heavy bass lines. Expect a wide range of reggae influenced tunes from dancehall, dub and jungle to raw ragga mashups with a sprinkling of drum and bass!
