Antoine has been a resident in Wellington since 2003 after moving to the Capital from Paris, and he has been spreading reggae throughout the city and selecting around town for the past two years.
His interest in reggae was sparked many years ago when he began collecting Studio One classics. This interest grew and developed and nowdays also goes beyond Jamaican productions to include new roots and dancehall from other Caribbean Islands, Africa and France.
Above all, Antoine has an affinity for voices and consciousness and favourite artists include Luciano, Capleton and Winston McAnuff, French indie dancehall artists such as Admiral T and Krys, and he also has a soft spot for women rocking the mic, such as Dezarie, Tanya Stephens and Sister Nancy.
He most regularly plays out with the Yardwise Crew and most recently represented at Soundsplash ’07. You can also hear his top-notch selections on Radio Active’s Roots and Culture Show.
