I’ve been DJing for over 30 years, starting out in the early 90s as a box boy for the Mighty Axis Sound System. It was a hard introduction to sound system culture in the North of England and I eventually became a selector and DJ.
My addiction to vinyl and DJing became so great that I opened my own record shop, Proper Records. We also ran a couple of drum and bass labels, ‘Birth’ and ‘Home Grown’ which pumped out about 25 vinyl releases.
Aotearoa and Northland have been home for over 16 years now. I’m currently the resident DJ for Jacman Entertainment, if you’ve been to a reggae show up North, I’m the fellow warming up the crowd for the big names.
My SoundCloud page is bursting with reggae and most of its sub genres. There are dedicated artist mixes, Studio One sets and SoundCloud’s most listened to, King Tubby mix.
Live DJ sets are always strictly vinyl only, all killers with no fillers, dancefloor reggae mixed and played proper.
