This is the second time I have reviewed a Chronixx tune here, but to be honest, if he keeps up this high calibre, you can expect a few more!
‘Capture Land’ is off his latest ‘Dread & Terrible’ E.P. and is reminiscent of the good ol’ rub-a-dub era of the early/mid eighties. It is a full bodied riddim with a driving bassline that carries it along very nicely indeed.
On top of this is his lyrics, relating to the masses living in countries that have been taken from the indigenous people. TUFF TUFF TUFF and on repeat with me at the moment!
The E.P. is worth checking in general as it includes previous singles ‘Here Comes Trouble’ and ‘Alpha & Omega’ as well as ‘Spirulina’, which is getting love right now. There are also three dubs including one for ‘Capture Land’, which isn’t a bad thing at all.
A great package from one of reggae’s rising stars. Acquire!
