Crucial B from Crucial Vibes Sound System – the original sound outta Hamburg, Sankt Pauli – touches down in Wellington for the first time!
Crucial Vibes Sound System is one of Germany’s oldest sounds, established on New Year’s Eve 1991.
In summer 1988, long-time music collectors, Selectors Crucial B and Alex, went to the Summerjam Festival. Here they saw Conquering Sound System (Hannover) playing heavyweight sound on oversized speakers, every night. This inspired them to start their own sound system.
Crucial Vibes play early Studio One and Roots Reggae, as well as Digital Reggae, Early Dancehall and Raggamuffin, spiced up with fresh, up-to-the-time productions.
Today, Crucial B represents the sound as a Selector, Enginer and MC, and Crucial Alex is responsible for the Hamburg Reggae Portal www.nuff-vibez.com.
