Dre represents the new wave of conscious artists currently emerging from Jamaica. Other artists from the said wave also feature on cuts to this riddim.
The riddim is called ‘Militancy’ and it is built by Overstand Entertainment. They are the same crew who gave us the ‘Rootsman’ riddim earlier this year, which featured the Chronixx cut, ‘Here Comes Trouble’.
The riddim here is a take-off to Little John’s ‘Work To Do’ from the 80s, and it is relicked nice and heavy! Dre compliments the backdrop with a lyric reminiscent of Jnr Gong’s ‘Welcome to Jamrock’. Yeah for real…baaad!
The other cuts are well worth checking out too.
