Check one of the most blazing sessions of 2008 – Ghetto Red Hot – featuring live and direct from Auckland city, the Dam Native 6-piece live band with support from Kerb and Juse1 (The Wanderers), Omega B (4 Corners), Art Official (Newtown Sound) and The Mighty Asterix – a night of pure dancehall hip-hop fire!

With a history spanning nearly two decades, Dam Native are a crew that need no introduction!  Pioneers of the Aotearoa hip-hop movement, they spearheaded the urban musical revolution and were fundamental in establishing a unique, conscious and heavy New Zealand sound.

Their debut album, Kaupapa Driven Rhymes Uplifted (KDRU), released in 1997, is still regarded as one of the best New Zealand hip-hop albums of all-time and with their lyrical poetics, bangin’ beats and passion for hip-hop culture ranging from breaking, MCing and DJing to graffiti art they became the benchmark for street music in Aotearoa!

Don’t miss the chance to check the full Dam Native crew in effect when their 6-piece band hits the Capital.

Alongside some of the baddest hip-hop reggae DJs and MCs in Aotearoa – DJ Kerb and MC Juse1 from The Wanderers and Welly Deep Collective – Omega B from 4 Corners and Art Official from Newtown Sound!
