A dancehall stormer, “A Me Dat” expands well beyond the current standard of the genre courtesy of the exquisite vocal from Shanique Marie. The Equiknoxx collective member stands strong, bringing “good vibes only” on the mellow hook, before the booming bass and the boast-filled verses return to drive the track.
Australia’s Iron Gate Sound present a very different sound here, in contrast to their 2021 release, the Cornerstone EP. Make sure to check the NiceUp review, which includes an interview that alludes to this very release.
The full “A Me Dat” release also includes the selector-friendly instrumental and a lush Monako remix, which teases tropical before the churning percussion run things in an understated drum and bass fashion. This has been on regular radio show rotation for a while now!
