7” on Hitbound/Shamala
This was a tune that surfaced just after Xmas but is gaining momentum as we speak, as more heads realise it’s out here, having been obviously overlooked due to the season.
Jah9 has garnered acclaim worldwide for her conscious roots poetry-type lyrics and this tune is no exception. The difference with this track is that she is on an 80s Channel One studio riddim, making this something quite special. Lyrics are about how bredren and sistren spend their time inna di yard.
The 7” comes with a dub mix courtesy of a man who mixed many a tune outta Channel One, Soljie. If you see it grab it. It is a bit more pricey as it’s a U.S import, but you can see this being a collector’s item in years to come!
