This tune and video encompasses so many things I love, Major Lazer, Busy Signal, 1993, and Jamaicans dancing. Love them or hate them, Diplo and Major Lazer are here to stay and they are on point right now. It’s hard to go digging or browsing without coming across someone that has collaborated with these guys. From Santigold to Chronixx, Major Lazer are spitting out bangers left, right, and centre.

‘Bumaye’ is no exception, bouncy, booty-shaking, feel good dancehall (or is it?). Busy is once again burning up mics on this one. He is sometimes repetitive but who cares when a tune is this big, Busy Signal is cementing himself as one of the genres greatest. I find it difficult to think of a Busy tune I wouldn’t play.

I have been harping on and on for the last little while at just how much I like Diplo and co, but in all honesty, in my opinion they do release some rubbish at times. However his current crop of tunes have been straight up head-nodding, floor-filling greats (let’s just ignore 90% of the Snoop Lion album), check out the remix of ‘Get Free’ with Chronixx as an example.

The video to this tune is amazing. Set in 1993, it has some of the best costumes and dancing I have ever seen, with Diplo looking like Vanilla Ice and Busy looking like an updated Shabba Ranks. The dancing alone is enough for you to put this on YouTube repeat. DJ’s – need to revive a dying dancefloor? Drop this and in no time you’ll have the ladies up and as we know the boys follow!

Major Lazer have kindly released two videos on this cut, one with the lyrics so you can karaoke along with them, and you can also get down with the original.

I am definitely feeling this tune big time. I’ll do my best not to thrash it and its remixes so we can all have a turn.

Bless up.
