Mungo's Hi Fi

Since forming in 2000, Mungo’s Hi Fi have been one of the most progressive forces in international reggae, unleashing a myriad of highly sought-after releases on their Scotch Bonnet label while playing countless sell-out gigs throughout the UK and Europe.

Drawing from a rich heritage of Jamaican sound system culture, Mungo’s produce a bass-heavy sound with a distinctively quirky twist that has garnered them a cult following across the world and earned them high praise from the likes of BBC DJ Mary-Anne Hobbes, UK sound system legend Jah Shaka and the late great John Peel.

The lads from Glasgow have collaborated with some of the biggest names in both old-school and new-school reggae including Sugar Minott, Sister Nancy, Ranking Joe, Kenny Knots, Earl 16, Top Cat, Brother Culture and Warrior Queen.

What’s more, Mungo’s Hi Fi are equally at home in the world of dubstep, with releases from their second label SCRUB A DUB on high-rotation with some of the scene’s most influential DJs.

The NZ massive can catch Mungo’s Hi Fi at the One Love Festival, 6 Feb (Waitangi Day) at the Hataitai Velodrome and also alongside Earl Gateshead, 12 Feb, Auckland and 13 Feb, Wellington.
