Tune of week? Possibly my tune of the year. Released in 2012, I first heard this gem in a David Rodigan set in London and thought I need that on seven inch. It’s all killer no filler.

Definitely sound system friendly with heavyweight B-line, digi-drums, well-arranged siren pops, dub bubbles and rolls. Protojes’ vocal performance is full of emotion as his conscious lyrics connect with his fellow Kingstonians on the social and political level.

Genre wise it’s probably Dub-hop. The music video is well worth a check out and if it belongs in your collection, hunt it down on Ernie B’s Records.

Peace to all massive and crew.

Vinyl collect and base line aficionado. Big up all the original musicians who bless up the world with their creativity. I just buy them on wax and try and find a place to play them up loud. Big up all junglists.
