Irie ites 10″, Ram Dancehall riddim
Solo Banton and Spectacular handle the vocals on this tune, another Russ D-produced scorcher, soon to be released on the Irie Ites label.
Irie Ites are a French crew which started life as a sound system in 1999, quickly branching out into promotion, running an online shop, and establishing a record label a few years later. They describe their sound as ‘conscious One Drop’, but in fact a feature of the label is the different styles they produce, from modern roots, relicks to branching out into hip hop versions, they are not easily pigeon-holed.
This tune sees Solo Banton adding to his ever-growing list of excellent releases, as does Russ D, who shows his versatility and skill as one of Europe’s leading producers. Spectacular is an artist outta Kingston who features regularly on Irie Ites releases. He has toured extensively and regularly throughout Europe, and voiced for many European producers.
Russ D has worked on a number of Irie Ites releases and here he has constructed a heavy riddim that Spectacular and Solo ride to perfection. Along with the vocal, the 10″ features three dubs, due to be released before the end of the month.
