When: Saturday 23 June
Where: Vintage Bar – 25 Taranaki Street, Wellington
Featuring: Art Official, Kerb and Rhys B
$5 entry, free CD plus a Bacardi cocktail to the first 50 peeps
Welli’s very own night of blazing dancehall, hip-hop and reggae returns to heat up Winter 07 at one the city’s most exciting new night-spots, Vintage Bar.
Following up on the popular Ghetto Red Hot parties last year, the night returns with another blazing line-up featuring DJs RHYS B (Wellington’s own DJ Godfather Don), ART OFFICIAL (Yardwise, NiceUp, Newtown Sound), and DJ KERB (Wanderers, Wednesday Night Jam). All long-time conveyors of the best in hip-hop, dancehall and reggae music in the Capital.
Ghetto Red Hot is a night dedicated to a sub genre which is a mash-up of two worlds, hip-hop from the streets and dancehall fresh from Yard. Ghetto Red Hot celebrates a time when Jamaican dancehall music reunited with its American descendant, hip-hop.
A musical combination-special of heavy 80s, 90s and current dancehall reggae alongside the old-school and new-school of Jamaican influenced hip-hop from the US, Canada, Europe and New Zealand.
Limited capacity so get down there nice and early to avoid missing out. A free copy of the latest Ghetto Red Hot Mix (Volume Two) will go to the first 50 people through the door plus a free Bacardi cocktail.
Big ups to Bacardi, NiceUp and Vintage Bar
