Originally from Wellington, New Zealand, Conviction Roots began with an interest in Asian underground and drum n bass, which naturally led him to reggae.
The Roots Foundation sessions in Wellington left a lasting impression on him and sowed the seed for what was to come. After moving to the UK and hearing reggae played on a heavyweight sound system for the first time, it became his main music focus.
A lover of all styles from ska through to steppas, with a first love of 70s roots from the golden era, Conviction Roots believes there is room for everyone in reggae.
