Frankie is a selector and co-operator for Roots Factory and Downbeat Melody Sound System. A traditionalist through and through, his selection and production is all grounded in a foundation style, from Rocksteady and Roots through to Dancehall and Digi. He is a strictly-vinyl selector and an avid dubplate cutter.

Representing Bristol, Frankie runs Cosies, one of the city’s best reggae clubs, and is also the reggae purchaser for Idle Hands Record Store.

As part of the Roots Factory duo, Frankie plays alongside Brigadier JC often back-to-back, allowing the two to meld Brigadiers contemporary style with Frankie’s classic, providing a bit of something for everyone.

Frankie says “Although I like to play and cut UK dubs and dubplates, I feel these kinda tune are better left for the sound system. So this mix brings together some of the early styles that I like to play, from Rocksteady to Dancehall.“
