This March, NiceUp presents reggae dancehall champion Solo Banton, reaching New Zealand and Australia for the 1st time!

After a long career in the reggae music business as a soundman and producer, Solo began as a recording artist through linking with Kris Kemist of Reality Shock Records. Immediately recognised for his vintage deejay style, lyrical ingenuity and irrepressible personality, Solo has impacted on bass music and culture far and wide.

He has 3 albums in partnership with Reality Shock Records. In 2010 ‘Walk Like Rasta’ dropped, 2012 ‘Higher Levels’ and 2019 saw his latest release ‘Old Raggamuffin’. With countless more releases, Solo has worked with the likes of Mungo’s Hi Fi, Jahtari, Dubkasm, Conscious Sounds, Necessary Mayhem, Roots Factory and many others, creating a series of musical anthems.

Solo is in demand on the touring circuit, renowned for energy-filled performances delivering a musical message.

Big respect to the crews bringing the vibes and making it happen: Foreigndub, Stick Mareebo Productions, 4’20 Sound, Jafa Mafia, Wakamana Sound System and Raglan Sunday Sessions.
