Join the NiceUp Crew for a sweet night of pre-Christmas reggae, ska, rocksteady and dancehall with Steve Rice, Steve the Hat and Art Official.
Direct from Bristol, UK, Steve Rice returns to the Capital to lay down a lesson in foundation reggae sound system business! Renowned for his vintage selections, Steve plays across the UK with his sound, Downbeat Melody, and says “When you get a feeling for reggae music you have to go out with the old seven inch discs and express yourself through their music, it’s what I do, I can’t help myself”.
Joining him is Steve the Hat. Originally from New Zealand, Steve has been based in London since the early 90s. He plays tunes with a focus on ska and rocksteady but also represents all types of reggae music mixed in with soul, rhythm and blues, jazz and Latin, his motto being, “If it comes on a 45 and I like it, I’ll play it”.
Alongside Newtown’s own veteran selector, Art Official. Always equipped with heavy selections and guaranteed to bring fire to the dancefloor, Art mixes the best in old and new school reggae dancehall riddims and is set to blaze up Good Luck Bar for the last NiceUp session of 2009!
