The B-side to the Yami Bolo-led Head A Go Roll 12”, this fierce deejay cut showcases the mic stylings of the veteran Lisa Dainjah.
Over a hard-hitting bubbler of a riddim – dominated by the broad bass line – Dainjah boldly announces ‘the grand finale of the old sce-na-ry; no matter where dem try none of dem can stop me.’ Tough plus catchy equals a crucial combination.
Nearly too timely, this is obviously a personal proclamation about earning and maintaining respect – yet, it holds up well as a larger condemnation of our contemporary Babylon amidst ongoing pandemic-driven societal shifts.
Out now – a longer cut than the video clip – via Bent Backs Records’ Bandcamp in digital and vinyl formats.
