Tom B is a DJ and collector of fine music with a deep affection for the humble 7 inch vinyl record.
In 2019 he and long time friend East Larry started up Jive Turkey – a party that celebrates the little records. ‘We’re big advocates of the multi genre, open-format approach to DJing and you can hear this coming through strongly at each of our nights.’ Jive Turkey happens on the last Friday of every odd-numbered month at Havana bar in Wellington.
‘Huge thanks to the NiceUp crew for inviting me to submit a mix, it’s an honour to be asked to contribute, but also it has inspired me to reach into the dusty corners of my collection and pull out some music that I don’t really get to play out often.
The mix takes in roots, dub, trip hop, hip hop, dancehall and a couple of in-betweeners – I really hope you all enjoy!’
