A night celebrating the Reality Chant and Blackout JA, “Play Hard” (plus the Ayaluna remix) 7″ vinyl release.
UK-based Jamaican dancehall champion Blackout JA meets New Zealand’s Reality Chant (Messenjah and Midnight Dubs) for this limited edition 7″ vinyl release.
“Play Hard” has been road-tested on South Island sound systems such as Entity, Chief Remedy, Kāwai, Roots Fire, Ninth Wave, Wheke Sound and more over the past two years. These tunes have their roots deeply embedded in Ōtautahi sound system culture.
From the Roots Radics-inspired original mix to the bass heavy remixes from Ayaluna and Observe, this release showcases multiple flavours of the Christchurch underground music and sound system community, from roots reggae and dub to dubstep.
