Embassy of Sound is a daytime into evening session dedicated to the foundations, spirit, and future of reggae sound system culture.
This is a whānau-friendly gathering where people of all ages can come through, spend time together, and experience dub music the way it’s meant to be heard, through a proper hand-built sound system, in a shared space.
This is an educational and cultural experience, creating space to understand where this music comes from and what it carries.
Throughout the day:
- Roots reggae and dub selections played with intention
- Sound system culture in action
- Selectors sharing knowledge of the music, its lineage and its message
- A welcoming environment where you can listen, learn, connect, or move
Brought to you by Fish and Bread, Reggae Republic and the Button Factory in conjunction with Creative New Zealand.
